This year’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro are not yet halfway complete, but some Am Law 200 lawyers have already worked behind the scenes to advise organizations advocating on behalf of Olympic sports hopefuls.

The International Olympic Committee officially approved surfing last week as one of several new sports seeking entry into the next summer games in 2020. Others added to the Olympic menu include baseball and softball, karate, skateboarding and sports climbing. Tokyo will be the host city for those festivities.
