McDermott Will & Emery is poised to close its outpost in Rome later this year, a decision that will likely result in the loss of some local jobs.

The Chicago-based Am Law 100 firm’s decision to close the office comes after a review of the business by its executive committee. While the number of redundancies has not yet been announced, McDermott employs about 38 individuals in Rome, including 17 lawyers, eight of whom are partners.
