Nonprofits' Dissolution Dilemma: April Changes Simplify Process

David W. Lowden, a special counsel at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, writes that for-profit dissolution is relatively simple. Not-for-profits, however, need to jump through numerous hoops. But recent changes to New York's Not-for-Profit Corporation Law will improve the dissolution process for most nonprofits, with especially significant changes for no-asset (and small asset) and inactive corporations.
