'I Can Do It' -- A Growing Number Represent Themselves in Court

Lawyers Say End Is Near in Feminine Hygiene Products Suit

Four attorneys stood in federal court Aug. 22 and said they're finally nearing an end in their fight over sanitary pads. Tyco Healthcare sued Kimberly-Clark Corp. last year, claiming the company was infringing on its trademarked name "Flexi-Wings" used on Always brand sanitary pads. Attorneys at a hearing said they were close to reaching a settlement, though they would not discuss the terms.

Law Requiring Tobacco Companies to Disclose Additives Reinstated

A federal appeals court on Tuesday reinstated a Massachusetts state law that requires tobacco companies to disclose the ingredients in their products. The ruling by the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reverses a decision by a district court judge who had said the law was unconstitutional because it would force companies to give away their trade secrets.
