The recent death of Fred Rogers -- known to most Americans as Mister Rogers -- has evoked numerous tributes to his contribution to children's television. Rogers also made an important contribution to the development of IP law. His testimony was quoted at length in a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision which assured that we would be able to watch TV programs whenever we chose with the assistance of VCRs and their successors.
