The judicial system worked

In August of 1991, Troy Davis was convicted of murdering Officer Mark MacPhail. Often unreported is the fact that Mr. Davis was also convicted of aggravated assault and sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting another victim in the face an hour earlier with the same gun that killed Officer MacPhail. Davis thereafter began a 20-year legal odyssey in which he was given numerous and extraordinary opportunities to overturn his conviction.
