Description

In Europe, cyber threats are on the rise, particularly targeted attacks and ransomware incidents, leading to a greater need for resources and expertise in incident response. There's a significant shift in the threat landscape, with ransomware groups targeting not only companies, but their families, supply chains, and clients, too. The use of AI in cyber security poses risks in data management.
A panel of cyber law experts discusses the importance of preparedness, training, and understanding potential risks. Incident response strategies are evolving due to remote working, requiring out-of-band communication and more direct interaction during incidents. Senior executives play a crucial role in providing guidance, as incident response becomes more time-sensitive and focused on personal liability, with new regulations in Europe requiring faster reporting. Understanding and navigating international incident reporting regulations is essential, given the complex and evolving nature of cybersecurity threats.
