Michelle McGovern

Michelle McGovern is the General Counsel at Verana Health, where she works to find solutions that help set the market standard for data privacy in an increasingly complex legal environment.

Michelle was previously the Deputy General Counsel at Redesign Health, a venture-backed incubator that, during her tenure, raised $350M, and built, launched and scaled more than two dozen healthcare companies.

Michelle also worked at Pfizer, where her roles included supporting clinical trials and pharmacovigilance, building sustainable markets for pharmaceutical products in the developing world, and serving as the North America Legal Lead for Upjohn, Pfizer's $12B legacy products and generics business.

Michelle completed Northwestern University’s accelerated journalism degree program, graduating in four years, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s of Science and Master’s of Science in Journalism, and received her JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. Michelle has been credentialed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Manager.

Michelle is also the President of the Board of Directors of 826NYC, a charity that helps under-resourced youth write their own paths forward, regardless of circumstance.

Rachel Maimin

Rachel has extensive trial experience in federal criminal proceedings and a strong background in internal investigations. After more than eight years as a federal prosecutor, she now defends individual and corporate clients in matters involving allegations of financial and other white collar crimes.

In the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), Rachel worked on some of the Office’s most high-profile cases, including United States v. Michael Cohen, where she acted as a senior prosecutor in the investigation and prosecution of the personal attorney to the President of the United States. She was also lead prosecutor on the largest-ever gang investigation and prosecution in New York City history, which resulted in the arrest and prosecution of 120 leaders and members of two rival gangs.

As Assistant U.S. Attorney in the SDNY’s Violent and Organized Crime and Public Corruption Units, Rachel was responsible for investigating and prosecuting matters relating to complex financial crimes such as fraud and money laundering; and large and complex criminal organizations engaged in racketeering, narcotics, and violent offenses. She argued numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Rachel was awarded the Attorney General’s 2017 David Margolis Award for Exceptional Service (the Department of Justice’s highest honor) and 2019 Award for Distinguished Service (the Department of Justice’s second highest honor).

Brian F. Doran is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Investors Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Investors Bank, a New Jersey- chartered bank located in Short Hills, New Jersey, with branches and operations in New Jersey and New York. Brian also serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for Investors Bank.

Prior to joining Investors, Brian was the New York/New Jersey Region Executive and Director of Governmental Affairs for Popular Community Bank, a New York-chartered commercial bank. Brian previously acted as the Director of the Legal & Compliance Division at Banco Popular North America.

Prior to joining Popular in 1999, Brian was a partner in the New York office of the McConnell Valdes Law Firm, from 1997 to 1999. From 1988 to 1997, Brian was an attorney with Jones Day, a multi-national law firm. Brian also serves on the boards of the Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation and Bloomfield College.

Brian received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism from Marquette University and his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s (NY) University School of Law.
