Bunny Smith is an experienced senior counsel in the fields of Privacy and Cybersecurity and is currently the Global Cybersecurity Counsel for Yahoo.
Prior to Yahoo, Bunny worked as an outside General Counsel for a number of tech businesses advising them as a subject matter expert on their privacy and security posture. She has also been published in several books and other publications regarding computer and internet law in addition to cybersecurity.
Bunny has always had a love for tech and learned to speak engineer when she first lived in DC while volunteering for MAGFest, the music and gaming festival, where she is still a department head 18 years later.

Tania Medina Bryant

Senior Counsel, Cybersecurity and Technology Regulation

Tania Medina Bryant is a dynamic, collaborative problem solver and attorney with over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, data security, and law. With advanced degrees in Cybersecurity (MS) and Management (MA), she has consistently demonstrated her expertise in advising executives, managers, attorneys, and federal agents on complex issues such as law and policy interpretation, network and data security, risk mitigation, compliance, and technology adoption. Tania is known for her empathetic leadership, team encouragement, and cheerful demeanor, qualities that make her a respected colleague and a sought-after keynote speaker.

Tania began her legal career as a JAG officer in the United States Air Force, where she specialized in cybersecurity law, computer crimes, and national security investigations. Her work involved training nearly 300 military personnel, prosecuting computer-related crimes, advising federal agents on investigative techniques, and collaborating with military forensic labs to recover digital evidence. Following her Air Force service, she continued to make significant contributions to national security at the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). At DHS, Tania was among a select group of 15 lawyers responsible for providing legal guidance on oversight audits, inspections, and investigations across 22 DHS agencies, affecting over 240,000 employees.

In 2018, Tania transitioned to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she advised senior leaders on cybersecurity regulations, managed a cross-functional team, and served as a project sponsor for systems development efforts. Her leadership in the public sector set the stage for her move to the private sector, where she now serves as Senior Counsel in Global IT and Cybersecurity, first at Dell Technologies and currently at Marsh McLennan. In her current role, Tania leads the Cybersecurity and Technology Regulation program, advising on the global cybersecurity and technology regulatory landscape and supporting enterprise-level incident response. Tania’s career is a testament to resilience, curiosity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. She has navigated the complexities of the legal and cybersecurity fields with grace and determination, always driven by a desire to pave the way for minorities and women in law and technology.

Through representation, mentorship, coaching, and advocacy, she seeks to empower others to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Tania’s favorite quote, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog” by Mark Twain, encapsulates her approach to life and work. In her speaking engagements, Tania shares her journey of overcoming personal failures, trusting her instincts, and taking purposeful action. Her insights into the transformative power of resilience and curiosity inspire others to navigate their own challenges with enthusiasm, persistence, and grit. Tania’s story is one of empowerment, demonstrating that with the right mindset, any obstacle can be overcome, and any dream can be realized.

Elise Houlik is Chief Privacy Officer at Intuit. In this role, she drives Intuit’s data stewardship vision and advises on complex privacy and interrelated regulatory issues. Her team is deeply engaged with the business on all matters related to product development, data governance, and information security. Elise joined Intuit in August 2022 and is based in New York.
Prior to joining Intuit, Elise served as Mastercard’s SVP, Assistant General Counsel - Privacy & Data Protection, where she led privacy work for the North American and Latin American & Caribbean markets, and for several global divisions including open banking, small / medium business and B2B platforms, digital payments and partnerships, start-ups, cryptocurrency / blockchain, marketing and communications, human resources, operations & technology, and corporate security. She formerly held the role of Associate General Counsel at Fannie Mae in Washington, DC, acting as the company’s Lead Privacy & Cybersecurity counsel for several years.
Elise is admitted in DC, MD, and NY (In House), and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School.

Jennifer K. Mailander is a Privacy and Data professional with extensive and diverse experience in advising executives and Boards of Directors on global privacy, cybersecurity, risk management, regulatory compliance and technology matters in the mortgage, AdTech, business services, cloud technology, and consumer products areas. Ms. Mailander is currently Senior Director and Deputy General Counsel at Fannie Mae, a leading source of financing for mortgage lenders providing access to affordable mortgage financing for millions of Americans. She also sits on the board of directors for Spirion, a technology company focused on helping companies locate and secure their data. Ms. Mailander is a founding member and former Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Women in the House (WITH) network and currently serves as co-chair of the DC chapter of The Quorum Initiative.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Ms. Mailander was Associate General Counsel of Privacy at ComScore in Reston, VA and Associate General Counsel and Director of Compliance & Privacy at Corporation Service Company (CSC) in Wilmington, DE. She actively volunteers supporting Fannie Mae’s pro bono efforts and the Dumbarton House museum in Washington, DC.

Ms. Mailander attended the University of Dayton School of Law and Miami University for her graduate and undergraduate degrees.
