    Philip Strauss

    Vice President

    Phil Strauss is Vice President and General Counsel at MarketTools, Inc., a venture-backed market research technology company located in San Francisco. Before joining MarketTools, Mr. Strauss was General Counsel at public enterprise software companies Actuate Corporation and Brio Software, as well as Corporate Counsel at Adobe Systems. Before going in-house, Mr. Strauss held associate positions in the structured finance department at Shearman & Sterling in New York and in the general litigation department at Jones Day in Chicago. Mr. Strauss began his legal career as a clerk for the Alaska Supreme Court.

    Michael Ross

    Michael C. Ross is former senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Safeway Inc. He is currently an adjunct consultant with Altman Weil, Inc., and teaches the Ethics and Integrity in Law & Business course at the University of Virginia School of Law. He also teaches a course on mergers and acquisitions at Boalt Hall School of Law, where he is a member of the Advisory Board of Boalt¿s Center for Law, Business and Economics. He is a frequent panelist at the Stanford Law School¿s Director¿s College. Prior to his executive positions, Mr. Ross. was a partner in the law firm of Latham & Watkins, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions.

    Kevin Marks

    Kevin Marks is vice president, secretary and general counsel at Roche Palo Alto, one of four pharmaceutical research centers owned by Roche, a global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. The Palo Alto facility was previously known as Syntex prior to its acquisition by Roche in 1994. Marks joined Roche Palo Alto¿s legal department in 2000 as assistant general counsel in charge of employment matters. He became general counsel of the company in 2004. Marks previously practiced employment law in the Oakland office of Littler Mendelson. He received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law.

    Marie Oh Huber

    Marie Oh Huber heads the global legal and government relations function for eBay. She and her team partner with the businesses to drive the purpose and success of eBay and its buyers and sellers. Her responsibilities include overseeing the company's global legal department, risk management program, and its policy group. She is responsible for interactions with content regulators, law enforcement, IP, corporate governance and SEC compliance, contracts, and other legal and government relations matters. Marie's passion for eBay's purpose of creating opportunity by empowering small and medium businesses is what compelled her to join the eBay family as it enters its next chapter.

    She has 25 years of strategic business and legal experience in global Fortune 500 companies. She has an extensive track record as a business leader and advising boards of directors and executive leadership on global strategy, M&A, corporate governance, legal and compliance, IP, and operational matters.

    Marie joined eBay in May 2015 from Agilent where she served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary since 2009. She was responsible for communications, regulatory affairs and quality assurance, government affairs, and philanthropy at Agilent. For the previous ten years she also held positions of increasing responsibility at Agilent and prior to that at HP. She has a BA in Economics cum laude from Yale, studied at the London School of Economics and received her JD from the Northwestern University School of Law. She serves on the boards of the James Campbell Company LLC and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

    Marie is a strong champion for diversity and inclusion, paying it forward, and giving back to the community. She has received a Women’s Legal Defense and Education Fund’s 2015 Women of Achievement Award, a 2014 National Diversity Council's Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology distinction, and an Inside Counsel Transformative Leadership Award in 2013.

    David Bayless is a partner in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. His practice focuses on SEC enforcement work, conducting internal investigations, and private securities class action litigation. He represents public companies, boards of directors and audit committees, and senior management. He has extensive experience in SEC investigations involving financial reporting and accounting fraud allegations as well as insider trading. He also represents public accounting firms and their partners and employees. He represents broker-dealers and investment advisers and their employees in enforcement actions by the SEC and the NASD. Finally, he represents issuers, underwriters, and counsel in municipal securities investigations by the SEC.
