Margaret Egan

EVP, General Counsel & Secretary
Hyatt Hotels

Margaret Egan was selected as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in January 2018. In this role, she is responsible for Hyatt’s global legal and corporate services. Margaret served as interim General Counsel and Secretary of the Company from October 2017 to January 2018, and previously served as Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Hyatt from March 2013 to January 2018 overseeing the Company’s legal global transactions teams. From October 2003 to March 2013, Margaret held a series of increasingly responsible positions at Hyatt.

Prior to entering the hospitality industry, Margaret practiced law in the litigation practice group of DLA Piper in Chicago, Illinois from 1996 to 2000 and again from 2002 to 2003 and also held a position as Attorney Advisor with the United States Department of Justice in London, United Kingdom from January 2001 to January 2002.

Jolene Yee

Vice President & General Counsel
Delicato Family Wines

Jolene Yee, Vice President and General Counsel of Delicato Family Vineyards, leads a small but fierce Legal Department, including alcohol beverage trade practices compliance. Her practice encompasses all aspects of winery operations, including legal strategy, M&A, domestic and cross-border commercial transactions, trademark, employment counseling, policy analysis and development, and general corporate representation. Prior to joining Delicato, she spent over a decade advising E. & J. Gallo Winery, the world’s largest winery, following a short stint with a tech firm in the Silicon Valley and a slightly longer stint as a Foreign Legal Consultant representing American and European clients in general business matters and acquisitions of financially distressed companies with a large law firm in Seoul, Korea.

Jolene is a member of the Professional Faculty for the Sonoma State University Global Executive MBA in Wine Business, and is a member of the team who developed the innovative and experiential curriculum that includes a hybrid of online learning and residential intensives.

Jolene holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal and more recently served on the Hastings Employer Advisory Counsel. She was previously an adjunct instructor at Hastings.

Jolene has a history of supporting women in education and in business, and in building programs at work that help support, mentor, and advance women in the workplace. She strongly believes that a more diverse leadership means a more successful company, and is a founding member and Chair Emeritus of the Delicato Women’s Leadership Initiative.

Jolene lives in Napa, California with her husband John, two children, large lab Moonshine, and a couple chickens. When she’s not working, teaching, or chasing her two kids, you’ll likely find her having a glass of rose with her husband or writing music with her band The Sirens.

Susan Markel

Managing Director
AlixPartners, LLP

Susan oversees matters involving corporate financial reporting, regulatory investigations, whistle-blower actions, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement, and internal controls. Formerly at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), she served as chief accountant of the enforcement division.

She has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Akron, is a CPA and certified in financial forensics. Susan has received several awards including the SEC’s Distinguished Service Award in 2006 and The National Law Journal's 2014 "Governance, Risk and Compliance Trailblazer and Pioneer". She is a speaker nationally and internationally on public reporting and accounting related to financial fraud investigations and other enforcement actions involving the SEC and other government entities.
