Rawia develops customer-driven legal software that helps attorneys get their jobs done with a particular focus on innovative technologies and AI. Before joining Thomson Reuters, Rawia practiced antitrust law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, in both New York and DC. She is a graduate of Cornell Law School and the University of Maryland. Outside of work, Rawia is active with nonprofits focusing on food insecurity and income inequality.

Katie has been with BAL since 2014 and is the Director of the Practice Management (PM) department. Her team delivers outstanding US and global immigration content to serve both BAL clients and internal legal teams.

PM utilizes BAL’s first-to-market case management interface to streamline legal workflows and guide the client through their immigration process from start to finish, allowing for an exceptional user experience. Katie has led the PM team in creating thousands of customized email templates, forms, questionnaires, and case management systems for hundreds of immigration projects. Her team optimizes BAL’s proprietary technologies through automation and innovation so that legal teams may focus on making a lasting personal impression on their clients.

As an experienced General Counsel with two stints at late-stage growth companies, Ronak Ray leads all in-house legal matters for maturing businesses. He supported TaskUs’ board as corporate secretary and 18,000 people globally while managing to close a $500 million transaction with Blackstone before joining another scaling technology company at Pantheon where he now serves as their General Counsel. Most recently, Ronak was appointed as Executive Managing Director of modCounsel who provides concierge legal service to in-house teams from early stage to publicly listed as a minority and women-owned global practice.

Orrick has been named by the Financial Times as top 3 for innovation six years in a row. Kate works closely with clients and lawyers to improve the delivery of legal services through novel products, smart staffing, streamlined processes, data-driven decisions, and the use of technology. Kate also leads CaseStream, Orrick’s homegrown litigation and transaction management system, and remains active in numerous pro bono matters.
