***This is a non-CLE seminar*** To better understand the shifting nature of these responsibilities, Corporate Counsel has conducted an exclusive survey with senior in-house counsels and legal leaders to gauge how their relationship with the board has changed over the last year. Our research also asked what role these senior in-house counsels now play in driving business results within their organization as well as how compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity and other issues now play into the decision-making process.

The Schrems II decision to invalidate the EU-US Privacy Shield has had far-reaching ramifications for cross-border data transfers and cloud computing, including Microsoft 365 (M365). Topics include document review planning and staffing, project initiation, management, and quality control -- all with an eye on infosec and data loss prevention at a moment where most contract document review attorneys are working from home. With time for participation and Q&A, session attendees will take away several rich perspectives on cybersecurity and compliance issues facing legal teams engaged in remote review projects.

This panel will discuss several key and unique issues that have arisen in a national sampling of retail chapter 11 cases, including the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The panelists will explore the cases’ varied results, the processes employed to reach each conclusion, and the issues that arose along the way. Specifically, topics include “GOB” sale processes, consignments, sales of intellectual property, Section 503(b)(9) claims, cash collateral and DIP lending, landlord/tenant disputes, and certain case-specific nuances.
