TAR Solutions For A New Decade: A Data Science Approach

Jenn Bernstein is an Assistant General Counsel in JPMorgan’s Legal Discovery Management group. She leads a team of Discovery Managers that primarily work on cases from the Government, Investigations, and Regulatory Enforcement group within the legal department, as well as HR legal matters involving discovery. She has been with the firm for three years, and working in eDiscovery for a decade. Jenn began her legal career as a Litigation Associate, where she saw her fair share of paper discovery, which ultimately led to her appreciation of applying technology to the discovery process.

With over 25 years of experience in the professional services industry, Staci Kaliner has spent her career engaged with clients across many industries and business functions. This experience has provided her with the ability to communicate with business, technical, and legal leaders to translate the complex issues and risks they face into cost effective, defensible solutions that align with the requirements of the law.

In her current role as a Managing Director at Redgrave LLP, Staci routinely advises clients on the design and implementation of leading practice processes to support and reduce the eDiscovery related litigation risk, build efficacies into their operations, and identify and implement information governance best practices.

Dr. Taranto’s experience is in the design and implementation of search and automated document review solutions for clients in the Financial Services, Technology, and Pharmaceutical industries. Gina built the Linguistics, Analytics, and Data Science group at ProSearch. Her application expertise includes IBM’s Watson Explorer, Equivio Relevance, kCura Relativity, and dtSearch. She is a published author in the fields of linguistics and information retrieval.

Previously, Dr. Taranto was a lead linguist and adviser to client engagements at H5, and a research linguist at both A-Life Medical, Inc. and Northrop Grumman Information Systems. She received her B.A. from Kresge College at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with honors, and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego.

David Li, PhD linguist heads the Linguistics, Analytics, & Data Science team at ProSearch. In addition to implementing the Technology Assisted Review solution for ProSearch, David researches the innovative application of advanced searching methodologies such as natural language processing and machine learning.

With a background in both social and biological science, David received his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Southern California, M.Ed. from Harvard University, and B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University.
