The Future of Work: The GC’s Role in Workforce Disruption

Alan Klinger, Stroock’s Co-Managing Partner and Chair of Government Affairs & Regulatory Support, represents parties in complex civil litigation and has a proven track record of achieving successful results, whether through negotiation or litigation. He also leads the firm’s representation of public sector unions and employee benefits funds and is perennially ranked as one of the top civil litigators and labor lawyers in New York.

Alan provides outside counsel to, among others, the United Federation of Teachers, Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, Council of Supervisors & Administrators and Teamsters Employees Union Local 237 Funds. He also regularly represents the New York City Municipal Labor Committee, a consortium of the City’s municipal unions, in major litigation and amici curiae filings. Alan also acts as pro bono counsel to the Association of State Supreme Court Justices. His government relations work involves representing clients in administrative proceedings, health care and land use.

He is a board member of the New York University School of Law, trustee of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and Vice Chair of Anti-Defamation League New York/New Jersey Region.

Jonathan Jung is General Counsel for Innovative Cosmetic Concepts where he is responsible for global legal affairs including corporate, litigation, intellectual property, technology, real estate, labor & employment, regulatory, international trade, advertising, marketing and privacy. He provides senior management with effective advice on company strategies and business development, manages daily operation of the legal department and oversee s the work of outside counsels.

Previously, he was General Counsel for iLuv Creative Technology. Prior to joining iLuv Creative Technology, he practiced in private law firms and worked in various government agencies. He is the Chair of Intellectual Property Practice Group and serves on the Board of Directors and Diversity Committee at the Association of Corporate Counsel New York Chapter.

Jonathan is a graduate of Binghamton University with dual degrees in History and Philosophy and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Marjorie Shreiber Roshkoff is Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for J & J Snack Foods Corp. (NASDAQ: JJSF). She is also a member of the Board of Directors for J & J. In her position as General Counsel she oversees all legal matters involving the Company, acts as counsel for the Company and regularly interacts with all key personnel at J & J’s subsidiary companies. J & J currently has approximately 4400 full time employees and has over $1.2 billion in annual sales.

Marjorie received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Tulane University. She then graduated from Widener Law School and began working in the Philadelphia office of Blank Rome where she specialized in Labor and Employment law for several years.

After taking a break from the working world and having three children, Marjorie returned to the legal profession where she was Assistant General Counsel for a court reporting company and then worked for several different smaller law firms specializing in various areas of civil litigation. Since 2016 Marjorie has been with J & J. Marjorie is active in her community and is on the Board of Directors for the Hillel at Drexel University.

In her free time, (which is rare!) Marjorie enjoys working out, spending time with her 2 dogs (and family) and traveling. Marjorie is married to Ken Roshkoff, and they have three children – Madison, Samantha and Blake.

Joan Clarke-Narcisse is Corporate Counsel at Aflac, a Fortune 500 company that is the leading supplemental insurance provider in the United States and the leading provider for medical and cancer insurance in Japan. In her role, Ms. Clarke-Narcisse manages and directs the Employment legal team, which is responsible for providing strategic business-oriented advice to senior business leaders and executives designed to minimize legal risks and maximize profitability in a manner consistent with the company’s values. Ms. Clarke-Narcisse leads and coaches her team as they partner with Human Resources and manage the company’s compliance with global, federal, state and local employment laws. Ms. Clarke-Narcisse also serves as Co-Chair of Aflac U.S. Legal Department Diversity Initiative.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Clarke-Narcisse gained extensive experience counseling private and public entities in a broad range of employment and human resources matters and serving as lead trial counsel in jury and bench trials while working in private practice.

Ms. Clarke-Narcisse received her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and her law degree from Vanderbilt University School of law.
