It's not easy for in-house lawyers to stay informed on the ever-evolving area of labor and employment law, but thanks to blogs the task of sifting through recent cases has become a little less painful.

One of the best sites is the Labor & Employment Law Blog. Maintained by Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton, the blog is a comprehensive collection of recent case law, with a focus on the California court system.

What sets this blog apart is the amount of subjects listed in the navigational sidebar. Users can jump to specific posts that cover such topics as the ADA, arbitration agreements, discrimination, immigration, meal periods, termination and worker's compensation.

The blog is updated somewhat sporadically, though. There was a long gap with no posts between an April 24 post about employees on public works projects suing for wage violations and a June 14 post about the invalidation of a provision of the Industrial Welfare Commission's Wage Orders. However, the blog picks right back up with seven posts in June.
