Former Basketball Star Sued for Unpaid Commissions
Stephon Marbury was sued by a sports and marketing company for not paying commission on sportswear designed for retail stores.

Agency Sports Management LLC, a Dix Hills, N.Y.-based sports and marketing company, is suing basketball star Stephon Marbury for $214,990 in commissions that the company claims that he owes. In January 2006, Marbury, a two-time All-Star and former New York Knicks basketball player, helped create a line of sportswear with Agency Sports called Starbury.
Agency Sports said in the complaint, which it filed March 24 in White Plains, N.Y., that it had a contract with Marbury stating that he would agree to pay 20 percent of the revenue made from sales of Starbury merchandise. Agency Sports claims Marbury collected $4 million for his endorsement of the products but still hasn't paid all of the agreed-on commission made from sales. The Starbury line was marketed and sold in Steve & Barry's retail stores, which filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
Marbury hasn't been available for comment. The case is The Agency Sports Management LLC v. Starbury Corp.
