GC Appointments
Victoria Harvey was promoted to general counsel of Real Mex Restaurants Inc., a casual dining Mexican restaurant chain operator headquartered in Cypress, Calif. Her prior position was as its corporate counsel.
Wendy Hufford was named deputy general counsel at ITT Corporation, based in White Plains, N.Y. Hufford was previously executive vice president and chief litigation counsel of Cardinal Health, based in Dublin, Ohio.
Neal Goldman joined Luxembourg-based Skype as chief legal and regulatory officer. Goldman comes to the Internet phone service from 3Com, where he served as executive vice president.
Arcadian Health, based in Oakland, Calif., appointed James Novello senior vice president and general counsel. Most recently, Novello was vice president, assistant general counsel of Molina Healthcare.
Quantcast, a service that measures web audiences, appointed Michael Blum general counsel. Previously, he was a partner in the intellectual property group at Fenwick & West.
Sandata Technologies LLC, based in Port Washington, N.Y., promoted Kenneth D. Faltischek to chief legal officer, general counsel and executive vice president. Faltischek has provided legal service to Sandata, as well as other companies owned by its chairman, for a number
of years.
AOL appointed Julie M. Jacobs as executive vice president and general counsel. Jacobs joined AOL in 2000 and most recently served as its senior vice president and deputy general counsel.
Gov. Pat Quinn, D-Ill., named Deputy General Counsel John Schomberg as acting general counsel for the Office of the Governor. Prior to joining the Office of the Governor, Schomberg was assistant corporation counsel at the City of Chicago Department of Law.
Priority Health, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., appointed Kimberly L. Thomas as general counsel. Before, Thomas served as an equity partner at Barnes & Thornburg.
Mark A. Chudzinski was appointed the first general counsel of a newly created state office in Illinois, the Office of Health Information Technology (OHIT). He previously served as the general counsel of several high-tech companies, including Ameritech International.
Michael K. Tucker joined Avis Budget Group Inc., based in Parsippany, N.Y., as executive vice president and general counsel. He was previously managing partner of the law firm Tucker Associates.
Nicole S. Jones was named senior vice president and general counsel at Lincoln National Corp., a diversified financial service organization based in Philadelphia. Jones had been deputy general counsel, chief counsel and corporate secretary at Cigna Corp.
Adam Sand joins ZL Technologies in San Jose, Calif., as general counsel. Sand joins the company from eBay Inc., where he was responsible for advising several of its business units on risk avoidance, litigation and e-discovery issues.
Shawn Lindquist joined Fusion-io, an enterprise storage architecture provider based in Salt Lake City, as chief legal officer. Before, he served as chief legal officer at Omniture.
The United States Golf Association appointed Jim Noel as chief legal officer. Noel joins the USGA from ESPN, where he served as associate general counsel and as a vice president in the network's programming and digital media departments.
Law Firm News
Jones Day has named Theodore T. Chung as a partner in the Corporate Criminal Investigations and Trial Practice Groups in its Chicago office. Previously, he was general counsel for the Office of the Governor in Illinois.
Duane Morris has added Mitchell Frank, formerly assistant general counsel for commercial law and trademarks at Unilever United States Inc., as special counsel in its New York office. Frank joins the firm as a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.

Greenberg Traurig shareholder Joshua L. Raskin has entered an appearance for boohoo.com UK Ltd. in a pending patent infringement lawsuit. The suit, filed Sept. 3 in Texas Eastern District Court by Rozier Hardt McDonough on behalf of Alto Dynamics, asserts five patents related to an online shopping platform. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Rodney Gilstrap, is 2:24-cv-00719, Alto Dynamics, LLC v. boohoo.com UK Limited.
