Conning & Co. has named Vi R. Smalley as its general counsel and managing director. She will join the company's management committee. Smalley previously served as Conning's interim general counsel and chief investment counsel.
Anton Allen has been appointed general counsel and head of compliance of BetaShares Capital Ltd. Allen previously was head of legal at Macquarie Funds Group.
Alejandro Cestero has been appointed vice president and general counsel of Lufkin Industries Inc. Prior to joining Lufkin, Cestero was senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer of Seahawk Drilling Inc.
Luxottica Group S.p.A. has named Michael Boxer group general counsel and executive vice president. Boxer has been with the company for 18 years and was most recently general counsel and senior vice president for North America.
