The saga of Mark Whitacre—an Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) executive, turned FBI informant, turned embezzler—was so dramatic that is became the 2009 movie “The Informant,” starring Matt Damon.

InsideCounsel's SuperConference will kick off with “The Real Story Behind 'The Informant,'”a keynote panel featuring several of the key players in the ADM price fixing investigation. Panelists include Judge James Epstein, former FBI Financial Crimes supervisor Anthony D'Angelo, Kirkland & Ellis partner James Mutchnik, Sidley Austin partner Scott Lassar and Robert Herndon, an FBI special agent assigned to Whitacre's case.

Ethics

Following the keynote address, Brian Martin, senior vice president and general counsel of KLA-Tencor Corp., will host the first of a two-part “Ethics Boot Camp” series, which will focus on the latest ethical dilemmas facing in-house counsel.

Day one will feature an overview of the Model Rules, techniques for managing client relationships and a primer on reporting requirements. In the second session, conference attendees can submit their own ethical questions for discussion.
