GC Appointments

Hewlett-Packard Co. named John Scultz its new executive vice president and general counsel. Schultz, who replaces former GC Michael Holston, joined HP in 2008. His previous work experience includes stints at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, Drinker Biddle & Reath and Latham & Watkins.

Pharmaceutical company Eisai Inc. has appointed Allen Waxman to the position of senior vice president and general counsel. In his new role, he will oversee the company's U.S. legal matters and serve on its executive committee. Prior to joining Eisai, Waxman was general counsel of Pfizer and a partner and chair of Kaye Scholer's life sciences group.


Michelle Spreitzer is the new vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA. She joined the company in 1996 as a staff attorney, and most recently focused on consumer regulatory affairs and employment law. Spreitzer succeeds Matthew Roy, who will now serve as vice president of human resources and administration.
