Fannie Mae appoints Pfizer litigation head as general counsel
Fannie Mae, the largest backer of U.S. home loans, has appointed Bradley Lerman as general counsel, effective Oct. 1.

Fannie Mae, the largest backer of U.S. home loans, has appointed Bradley Lerman as general counsel, effective Oct. 1. Lerman joins the company from Pfizer Inc., where he was chief litigation counsel, senior vice president and associate general counsel.
Lerman's prior work experience also includes a stint at Winston & Strawn, where he was a partner and co-chair of the firm's white collar defense practice group. Between 1986 and 1994, Lerman was an assistant U.S. attorney in the Northern District of Illinois, where he worked in the white collar prosecution divisions.
Lerman replaces Judith Dunn, who has served as interim general counsel since former GC Timothy Mayopoulos was promoted to the company's CEO spot in June.
“Brad has integrity, excellent leadership skills and a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes for corporation across a broad spectrum of legal specialties,” Maypoulos said in a statement.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
