BTI Consulting Group recently asked 240 in-house lawyers which law firms they most fear to see on the other side of the courtroom as opposing counsel in a trial. According to the survey, the so-called “Fearsome Foursome” are Boies, Schiller & Flexner; Jones Day; Kirkland & Ellis; and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

The report also named the following 15 law firms as “Awesome Opponents”: Alston & Bird; Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott; Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Fish & Richardson; Goodwin Procter; Herbert Smith; Jenner & Block; Latham & Watkins; Miller Canfield; Munger, Tolles & Olson; Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan; Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi; Sullivan & Cromwell; Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; and Williams & Connolly.
