Prospects for the mergers and acquisitions market are looking the sunniest they have been in quite a while. Data indicates that 2014 was the best year for M&A since the 2008 financial crisis, and the first few months of 2015 have brought some big-ticket deal announcements as well.

“There was a lot of cash that was sitting on the sidelines—there still is—because during the economic crisis, people were handcuffed and didn’t want to make deals,” Andrew Lucano, a partner at Seyfarth Shaw and vice chairman of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice group, told CorpCounsel.com.
