Corporate Counsel's reporters are an ambitious bunch. Our senior reporters, in particular, have years of experience on newspaper business desks. One of them, Lisa Shuchman, spent a fair amount of time in Japan, while Sue Reisinger ran the front page of newspapers in Miami and taught feature writing at the college level.

All that means that they bring a certain level of insight and analysis to this magazine and website. What makes me especially appreciative is how they look at the news and trends and can figure out which events are especially relevant to you, our readers.

This month's cover story is a good example. Reisinger has been reporting on financial institutions and their tribulations since the economic crisis hit back in 2008. She's been assiduously cultivating sources and reporting on the regulatory response to the burst real estate bubble, the Federal Reserve response, the misdeeds of various banks and the success (or not) of the general counsel and monitors to cultivate a culture of compliance after the fall.
