The University of Minnesota board of regents Thursday named the general counsel, William Donohue, and three others to a committee to oversee an outside counsel investigation of the athletic department for sexual harassment.

The move follows the sudden resignation of athletic director Norman Teague on Aug. 7, after he admitted sexually harassing two high-level, female administrators with lewd texts and inappropriate actions.

On Aug. 13, Donohue hired outside counsel Karen Schanfield of the Minnesota's Fredrikson & Byron to conduct an independent investigation of sexual harassment in the athletic department. “We are accountable for ensuring this review is thorough, complete and independent,” said Regents Chairman Dean Johnson in a statement Thursday.
