Personal finance company Credit Karma has named Susannah Wright as its first general counsel.

Wright, who joined the company June 5, will oversee a legal department of 12 as well as additional members of the compliance and government affairs teams. She will also work on the San Francisco-based company's executive committee.

She comes to Credit Karma after most recently working as the head of compliance for SolarCity and then Tesla, which acquired the company last year. “I'm really impressed by Credit Karma's mission,” Wright told Corporate Counsel in an interview Thursday. “I came from a couple of companies that are mission-driven and that's something that's very important to me.”
