Houston-based Millennial Energy Partners has hired Clay Brett as vice president and general counsel. Brett joins the energy investing company after serving as its outside counsel for roughly three years while working as an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.

“It's a special opportunity because it's a growing organization with the opportunity to make an impact on the commercial side early on,” Brett said. “And I can define my own role here with a group of guys that I know really well.”

As outside counsel, Brett worked with colleague and Willkie Farr partner Michael De Voe Piazza on Millennial's private fundraising and mergers and acquisitions. He said much of his work in-house will be a continuation of that, plus maintaining relationships with investors and financial sponsors, along with acquiring or financing the development of more acreage for drilling projects.
