Nothing to see here. At least right now. Deutsche Bank's lawyers at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld are refusing demands from U.S. House Democrats that the bank disclose details about President Donald Trump's financing arrangements. [Reuters]
Talking Takata and torture memos. Dechert partner Steven Bradbury, the Trump administration's pick for Transportation Department general counsel, endured two lines of attack this week at his confirmation hearing. Democrats hammered him over his role in writing the so-called “torture memos” at the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, and he took heat for his role in representing Takata amid its defective air bag scandal.
