Liquefied natural gas provider Venture Global LNG Inc. has appointed Keith Larson as general counsel. The former Hogan Lovells partner took on the role this month, according to Larson's LinkedIn page.

Washington, D.C.-based Venture Global LNG, which earlier this year teamed up with GE Oil & Gas to provide a plant-wide technology solution for certain export facilities in Louisiana, did not respond to a request for comment on Larson's hire, but has updated the company's leadership web page to reflect his new role.

With over two decades of experience advising major energy companies, Larson joined Venture Global LNG from Hogan Lovells' D.C. office. While at the firm, Larson was head of the infrastructure, energy, resources and projects practice group for the Americas. In the more than 10 years he was at Hogan Lovells, Larson represented state-owned oil companies on important commercial arrangements and financing transactions as well as lenders on large power plant financings, according to an archived Hogan Lovells web page. His experience at the firm included involvement in a deal in which an energy company obtained a $570 million loan and assisting Ecuador in securing a $1.7 billion loan to finance the development of a hydroelectric project.
