Yoga guru Bikram Choudhury's efforts to appeal a $7.3 million verdict from last year have proved unsuccessful.

In dismissing the appeal on Thursday, a California appeals court sided with Bikram Yoga's former in-house counsel, Minakshi “Micki” Jafa-Bodden, who sued the founder of Bikram Yoga back in June 2013 for sexual harassment and wrongful termination.

The former in-house lawyer said she is “delighted” with the court's “swift and comprehensive” decision, adding that it “should send a very clear message to [Choudhury's attorneys at] Dentons that their client will not be permitted to game the system.”
