Cheddar Inc. has named Anjali Kumar general counsel and chief people officer.

The New York-based post-cable network, founded by former BuzzFeed executive Jon Steinberg and dubbed “the CNBC for millennials,” has hired Kumar to oversee the company's legal functions, along with people operations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits and learning and development, according to a press release issued Monday.

Kumar will be Cheddar's first general counsel, according to a Monday LinkedIn post from Steinberg. He wrote that he worked with Kumar at Google and thinks she will help build out “a world-class executive team.”
