After a tumultuous five years with Uber Technologies Inc., chief legal officer Salle Yoo confirmed last week she plans to depart the company.

In an internal email obtained by Corporate Counsel, Yoo said she will stay with Uber until newly seated CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, formerly of Expedia Inc., chooses a new general counsel, which could be soon, as a source from Uber told Corporate Counsel that the search is “in process and a priority.”

An exact timeline for hiring is not known and there are rumors circulating on who could lead the legal department, focusing on Burke Norton, chief legal officer of Salesforce.com Inc. and an Expedia alum. According to reports, the exact title Norton could hold at Uber is “fluid.”
