Boston Scientific Hires Boehringer Ingelheim's Head Litigator as New GC
Medical device company Boston Scientific Corp. has appointed Desiree Ralls-Morrison its new general counsel.

After four years as the top lawyer at a pharmaceutical company, Desiree Ralls-Morrison is making a move to Boston Scientific Corp.
The medical device company based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, announced the appointment of Ralls-Morrison as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Nov. 30. She succeeds a retiring Timothy Pratt.
Ralls-Morrison comes to Boston Scientific from Boehringer Ingelheim, where she headed the global litigation, government affairs and public policy organizations. Prior to joining that company in 2013, she was general counsel at the Johnson & Johnson consumer group and previously was an in-house regulatory and products liability attorney at Merck & Co. Inc. She began her legal career as a litigation associate at Shipman & Goodwin, according to her LinkedIn profile.
In her new role, Ralls-Morrison will oversee the company's global compliance function, provide legal counsel across its global businesses and functions and serve as a member of the executive team.
“Desiree is an accomplished leader in the health care industry with deep expertise in broad-ranging legal matters and enterprise business strategy,” Boston Scientific's chairman and CEO Mike Mahoney said in a statement. “We look forward to her contributions to Boston Scientific and the company's continued growth.”
Ralls-Morrison holds degrees from Wesleyan University and Harvard Law School.
