Cheesecake Factory general counsel Debby Zurzolo will soon say goodbye to one of the sweetest legal jobs around.

Zurzolo will retire in April after 19 years with the company. Her retirement was publicly disclosed Tuesday in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the filing, Zurzolo is leaving the Calabasas Hills, California-based restaurant chain to “pursue other interests.”

Zurzolo joined Cheesecake Factory in 1999 as senior vice president and general counsel. Four years later, she was named executive vice president, secretary and GC.

Zurzolo could not be reached for comment and the company declined to comment.

Before working in-house at Cheesecake Factory, Zurzolo represented the company as outside counsel on real estate and business matters while working as a partner at Greenberg, Glusker, Fields, Claman and Machtinger, the filing said. She joined the firm in 1982.

She will stay with the company until April 12 and “will be available for consultation with the company thereafter to ensure a smooth transition,” according to the filing.

In the filing, the board thanked Zurzolo for her years of service and contributions to the company.
