Footwear brand Vans has named a new vice president and general counsel.

Libby Stockstill will lead the legal function at Vans, which is based in Costa Mesa, California, and is owned by VF Corp.—parent company of Jansport, Lee, Nautica and The North Face, among others.

Stockstill most recently served as North American general counsel of Irvine, California-based “beach life” apparel company Billabong.

As I begin my next chapter as vice president and general counsel of Vans, I am extremely grateful for the incredible opportunity and experience I've had with The Billabong Group these last four years and excited to embark on this new adventure,” Stockstill wrote on LinkedIn on Tuesday.

Stockstill did not respond for comment and a spokeswoman for Vans declined to make her available for an interview.

At Billabong, Stockstill began as U.S. corporate counsel in February 2014 and served as senior corporate counsel of North America from November 2014 to October 2017 before being named GC of Billabong in North America, according to her LinkedIn bio.

Prior to going in-house at Billabong, Stockstill was an associate at Latham & Watkins for about eight-and-a-half years, focusing on corporate law, including public and private company M&A.
