There is a slow but steady trend of increased enforcement of bribery violations by governments outside the United States, according to the latest annual Global Enforcement Report from TRACE International Inc., an anti-bribery compliance group.

In fact, Europe surpassed the United States in the number of ongoing investigations as of December 2017, with 118 probes compared to 114 by the United States, said the report, which was released Tuesday.
