Alfresco Software Inc. announced on Wednesday that Kamil Chaudhary would be immediately promoted to vice president and general counsel.

Chaudhary will oversee all of the company's legal affairs worldwide in areas such as corporate, commercial, regulatory, intellectual property, ethics, compliance and litigation. Alfresco, based in San Mateo, California, is an enterprise open-source software company that focuses on advancing the flow of digital business. Its list of clients include Liberty Mutual, Cisco Systems Inc. and NASA.

Since its sale to a private equity firm earlier this year, Alfresco has undergone a few other executive changes. Also on Wednesday, the company announced that Bob Pritchard has been promoted to senior vice president of sales. In April, the board of directors announced that Bernadette Nixon would be taking over as CEO.

Chaudhary, who was not immediately available for comment Thursday, is taking the place of former chief legal officer and general counsel Paul Warenski. Warenski, according to his LinkedIn page, left the company in March after leading the company's sale to Thomas H. Lee Partners to “explore new opportunities.”
