FORT, a private investment advisory firm with offices in New York City and Chevy Chase, Maryland, has named Christopher Snyder as its general counsel. He is based in New York.

Snyder spent nearly 10 years at King Street Capital Management as associate general counsel.  He previously was a senior associate at Latham & Watkins working on mergers and acquisitions, as well as a corporate law associate at Cravath, Swaine, & Moore. He could not be reached for comment.

Yves Balcer, co-founder of FORT in 1993, said in a statement Tuesday, “Chris Snyder brings substantial legal experience from a major hedge fund and two of the country's leading corporate law firms, and we are confident he will advise FORT in navigating our next phase of development.”

The company also announced the arrival of two other senior executives. Veteran asset manager Stu Bohart, formerly of Fortress Investment Group and Morgan Stanley, joined the firm as its first president, based in New York. And Sara Wolkoff, formerly a vice president in Goldman Sachs Asset Management, joined as head of investor relations.

FORT's new additions reflect its significant growth in the past two years after a minority stake in the firm by Petershill II, a Goldman Sachs Asset Management vehicle that invests in hedge funds. From around $1.4 billion under management in early 2016, the firm now manages around $5.4 billion.
