NBC News executives did not mishandle allegations that former “Today” show host Matt Lauer engaged in inappropriate workplace behavior, according to an investigation headed up by NBC Universal Inc. general counsel Kimberley Harris.

An internal investigative team, which was composed of lawyers and human resources officials from outside the news division, where Lauer worked before his firing on Nov. 28 of last year, released a six-plus-page report of its findings on Wednesday.

“We found no evidence indicating that any NBC News or Today Show leadership, News HR or
others in positions of authority in the News Division received any complaints about Lauer's workplace behavior prior to November 27, 2017,” it stated, adding that the team consulted with two outside law firms about the investigation.

Lauer was fired after a woman claimed he had subjected her to sexually inappropriate behavior at work. Within two weeks of his termination, three other accusers came forward.
