Six female lawyers kicked off the 15th annual Stanford E-Commerce Best Practices Conference on Monday morning with a plenary panel on the best ways to address sexual harassment, gender inequality and a lack of diversity at tech companies.

The lawyers—four of whom were in-house lawyers in tech—discussed how companies’ legal teams can ensure workplaces are safe and equal for all employees, even before concerns are raised in the first place.
