John Manly, the lead attorney for most of the plaintiffs in the Michigan State University sexual abuse case, reacted angrily Wednesday evening to reports that interim MSU President John Engler had said in an email that lead plaintiff Rachael Denhollander would “likely get a kickback” from Manly.

Manly, of Irvine, California-based Manly Stewart & Finaldi, called for Engler’s ouster. “This is just the latest in a series of attacks on the victims, specifically Ms. Denhollander and me personally, by John Engler,” he told Corporate Counsel. “This one is as specious and false as the rest. He is a repugnant and despicable human being and he should be fired and immediately escorted off campus.”
