Former in-house counsel William Dawn, who is 80 years old, avoided jail time but must pay $366,750 in restitution and serve three years on probation for his role in a multimillion-dollar financial fraud scheme in Colorado.

Dawn was in-house counsel at Denver-based Compass Financial Solutions, a financial services marketing firm, from 2002 to 2010. He pleaded guilty in February 2015 to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and was sentenced on June 19 to time already served.
