The yearlong shake-up of Uber Technologies Inc.'s leadership team continued on Monday with the resignation of corporate development head Cameron Poetzscher.

Uber confirmed Monday that Poetzscher, the ride-hailing company's highest-ranking dealmaker, has resigned, effective immediately. The resignation comes less than a month after The Wall Street Journal reported Poetzscher made a number of sexual comments about colleagues and had a consensual affair with a co-worker whose annual review he contributed to, violating company policy.

Allegations against Poetzscher emerged in 2017, during Perkins Coie's investigation into Uber's culture. According to the Journal, Poetzscher received a formal warning and had his bonus reduced in November 2017. In 2018, he was briefly promoted to interim head of finance.

Poetzscher joined the company in 2014, and has led many of Uber's largest deals, including the sale of its operations in South East Asia and its $7.7 billion investment from SoftBank Group Corp.

A representative for San Francisco-based Uber said Chief Financial Officer Nelson Chai, who joined the company in August, will take over Poetzscher's role as it seeks a replacement.

“We thank Cam for his four-and-half years of service to Uber,” the representative said.
