The packaging manufacturer that makes trademarked Bubble Wrap announced Tuesday that Angel Willis will be the company's vice president, general counsel and secretary beginning in 2019.

Willis will start her new job at Sealed Air Corp., headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Jan. 7. She will replace acting general counsel Tom Lagaly, who became acting general counsel in January 2017, when Norman Finch left the role as the company's legal leader. A spokesperson for Sealed Air did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Willis could not be reached for comment.

Willis is currently the vice president and general counsel of Ingersoll Rand for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa. She also was vice president and general counsel of mergers and acquisitions, finance and restructuring. Earlier, she was vice president and deputy general counsel of global commercial law, among other general counsel roles at the company she joined in 2005. Willis also was corporate counsel at Cummins Inc. from 2002-2005 and was an associate at Ice Miller earlier in her career. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law and has a masters of business administration from Clemson University.

Sealed Air CEO Ted Doheny said in a statement that he is happy to have Willis join Sealed Air.

“Angel is joining Sealed Air at an exciting time, and her leadership and business acumen will be instrumental as we embark on our journey to becoming a world-class organization. Her significant corporate and global experience make her a true expert and asset to our team.”

Sealed Air is a packaging company and owns the brands Cryovac and Bubble Wrap. According to the company's release, it generated $4.5 billion in sales last year, and has approximately 15,000 employees.
