An automotive retailer based in Medford, Oregon announced on Thursday that David Stork will become its first chief legal officer.

In his new role as Lithia Motors Inc.'s legal leader, he will help to further innovation, diversification, and mergers and acquisitions. He will also heavily focus on intellectual property, according to the press release.

“David's unique understanding and proactive approach to the legal discipline as a business partner is a perfect fit with our team and culture,” Bryan DeBoer, the president and CEO of the company, said in the press release.

A representative for Lithia did not respond to requests for comment. It is not clear when Stork will start in his new role.

Stork most recently worked as the general counsel of JELD-WEN, a window manufacturing company, according to the press release. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.

Lithia Motors has 182 locations nationwide.
