An investment firm and real estate company based in Minneapolis announced that a longtime real estate attorney is taking the helm as its new general counsel.

Shanna Strowbridge began her role for Schafer Richardson and SR Realty Trust Inc., collectively SR, in November. She said the board approved her earlier this month, and the company made the announcement on Wednesday. She replaces Mitchell Cox, who served as the general counsel for the companies since April 2017, according to an online press release announcing his hiring. It is unclear when Moss left the company and where he went.

“What I like most about Schafer is that we're very entrepreneurial,” Strowbridge said in a phone interview with Corporate Counsel. “There is a lot of activity in the market. We are busy growing by looking at new sectors and some unique financial arrangements.”

Before joining SR, Strowbridge was associate general counsel of real estate company CSM Corp. She has worked as an attorney and partner at Moss & Barnett and Monroe Moxness Berg. She has worked as an attorney at Winthrop & Weinstine and as in-house legal counsel at Roseville Properties Management Co.

Schafer Richardson is a real estate development, investment, management and leasing company, according to its website. SR owns the construction company Synergy Builders. SR Realty Trust is a private real estate investment trust, which was formed for the purpose of investing in a “diversified portfolio of commercial real estate properties.”
