Phoenix-based Cavco Industries Inc. has named Mickey Dragash as general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary, effective Feb. 6. Cavco is a leading builder of modular homes.
Dragash replaces general counsel and secretary James Glew, who, after more than 13 years as the top attorney, will remain with the company in the legal department, according to Glew's LinkedIn profile and an email from a company spokesman, who did not immediately provide details about Glew's duties in his new role. For his part, Dragash, who could not immediately be reached for comment, will lead Cavco's legal and compliance functions and serve as a member of the company's executive management team.
Before joining Cavco, Dragash, 49, had in-house experience, namely in the transportation industry, most recently as executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Swift Transportation Inc., now Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. He previously served as the executive vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer at Gordon Trucking Inc., now Heartland Express Inc., associate general counsel at DHL Supply Chain Solutions and assistant general counsel at Walmart Inc. He was in private practice as an associate at Ohio-based Roetzel & Andress, according to a statement announcing his hire.
“Mick is an excellent addition to our leadership team,” Dan Urness, Cavco's president and acting chief executive officer, said in the statement. “He is a proven executive with extensive experience in leading legal and compliance functions and supporting strategic initiatives across an organization. Mick's thoughtful judgment and business-focused approach will be an asset as we continue to execute our growth strategy.”
Before earning his law degree from Ohio Northern University, Dragash held various business and operational roles at both Yellow Freight Systems Inc. and Roadway Express Inc., now YRC Worldwide Inc., the statement said. He also holds a master's degree in transportation systems and logistics management from the University of Denver, it added.
