Liberty Media Chief Legal Officer Now Responsible for Recruitment and Talent Development
Rich Baer is the company's first chief administrative officer, and his new role will focus on recruiting and developing talent across Liberty and its portfolio companies.

In a reshuffling of executives, Englewood, Colorado-based Liberty Media Corp. announced that its general counsel and chief legal officer will take on the additional role of chief administrative officer.
A spokesperson for the company said Rich Baer is the company's first chief administrative officer. According to the press release, Baer's new role will focus on recruiting and developing talent across Liberty and its portfolio companies.
According to his profile on the company's website, Baer joined Liberty Media in 2013. Before joining the company he worked as the chief legal officer of UnitedHealth Group. He also served as the general counsel and chief administrative officer of Qwest Communications.
Baer was not available for comment Monday.
“Rich has been a key contributor across Liberty and this further role will allow him to expand the scope of his endeavors,” CEO Greg Maffei said in the press release.
The changes at the top of the company began with chief financial officer Mark Carleton announcing his retirement. Carleton joined Liberty Media in 2016. According to the press release, he will serve as a senior adviser to Liberty Media's key portfolio companies.
Brian Wendling, who has been with the company since 1999 and has been controller since 2011, has been appointed to the role of principal financial officer. Courtnee Chun has been made chief portfolio officer of the company.
All of the changes became effective July 1, according to the press release.
Liberty Media owns interests in the Liberty SiriusXM Group, the Braves Group and the Formula One Group.
