A national exterior home remodeling company has named Jennifer McGlinn as its first top lawyer.
Now general counsel at Chester, Pennsylvania-based Power Home Remodeling, McGlinn previously worked as the vice president, deputy general counsel and compliance officer at Ricoh USA Inc. in Malvern, Pennsylvania, and has held several other in-house roles at the company beginning in 2008.
In an interview Tuesday, McGlinn said she had been looking for an opportunity to be general counsel, but wanted to make sure the company would be the right fit for her.
“I was really impressed with the culture and the dedication they had to employee development, their desire to make the world a better place, their commitment to their customers and the fact that they were growing,” McGlinn said.
She said she plans on growing the legal department to help support the growth of the business.
“I want to grow the department in a way that's thoughtful,” McGlinn said.
McGlinn said she is being given the opportunity to get hands-on experience with other parts of the business, which will allow hiring in the legal department based on business needs.
“Next week I will be out at a customer site during an install,” McGlinn explained.
McGlinn said she will most likely be hiring someone with a strong background in employment law and also someone who has supported a sales organization.
She has also worked as an attorney at Duane Morris in Philadelphia from 2001 to 2008. McGlinn graduated from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 2001.
“We are so excited to have a legal mind and leader of Jennifer's caliber coming to Power at such a pivotal time in the company's history, as we are working toward our goal of becoming an iconic American brand,” the company's co-founder, Adam Kaliner, said in the press release.
Power Home Remodeling was established in 1992 and is the largest exterior home remodeling company in the United States. The company has more than 2,400 employees, 500,000 customers, and boasts over $700 million in annual revenue, according to the press release.
